Dates and Cheese Scones

Instructions

• • Mix the flour, salt, bicarbonate of soda, sugar, baking powder, and thyme.
  • Add the cold butter to the mixture and use your hand to kneed until the butter becomes pea-sized. (You may do this step with a food processor, but make sure that the butter remains very cold; if the butter starts melting, put the mixture into the freezer for 2 minutes and then resume working.)
  • Whisk the eggs with milk or fermented milk. Then add the mixture to the flour.
  • Sprinkle Kraft’s grated cheddar cheese and dates.
  • Use a kitchen knife to mix the ingredients until the dough becomes firm, but do not over-stir.
  • Sprinkle a fine dust of flour on the surface and then place the dough over it.
  • Gently press on the dough with your hands and roll it until firm.
  • Mold the dough into a rectangle. Fold an edge to the middle of the dough and roll the other over it. Repeat this step again.
  • Using your hands, mold the dough into a rectangle with a thickness of 1.5 cm and then cut it into around 12 balls or make more with smaller-sized balls if desired.
  • Put a baking sheet on an oven tray and then place the balls over it. Brush the balls with cream or milk and sprinkle the sesame and black seed.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 15-20 minutes until golden and puff.
  • Serve the dates and cheese scones hot or warm with Kraft melted cheddar or with honey and butter and enjoy a flavorful taste unlike any other!
